Legendary!
Summary : Although it's fairly similar to other Roland drum kits in the same price range, it looks a lot better than the others and for some reason I felt more comfortable playing on it. Definitely one of the best high-end sets on the market and worthy of a 10/10 rating!
If you’re looking to take your drumming to the next level, the first step is a high-quality electronic drum kit. Electronic kits are light, reliable, and they sound great at any type of venue. Playing acoustic drums can be very loud and unpleasant if you’re not wearing ear protection. Electronic drums go directly into the PA system, so they’re never too loud or too soft.
Volume aside, electronic drums are simply easier to set up and play. An entire electronic drum kit that’s fully assembled can weigh about as much as a single kick drum. When you’re performing often, the last thing you want to do is lug around heavy, fragile, expensive equipment.
There are a myriad benefits to having an electronic set instead of a traditional, acoustic one. If you’d like to dig deeper into that – click here.
What is the Roland TD-30KV?
If you’re a drummer, then there’s a good chance that you’re already familiar with Roland. They’re one of the most popular electronic drum companies (or any musical instruments to be honest..) in the world. They’ve been manufacturing them for decades, and their designs are currently at the forefront of quality and form factor.
The TD-30KV is one of Roland’s most popular electronic drum kits. The device includes all the triggers that you would expect to find in a professional drum kit. It comes with a custom drum sound module, a kick, a snare, four programmable toms, a hi-hat, a crash cymbal, a ride cymbal, and a wrap-around drum stand. All of these component parts combine to make one of the most advanced electronic drum kits currently on the market.
Why Should I Go Electronic?
A fully equipped, high-quality drum kit can cost many thousands of dollars, which puts it them out of the price range of the average player. Acoustic drums can also be difficult and expensive to maintain. With an electronic drum kit, you get all the features of a regular drum kit and more. There’s virtually no maintenance on electronic drum kits. Simply set it up, plug it in, choose the set of drum sounds you want, and play. You won’t have to deal with finicky drum keys that always get lost, and you won’t have to worry about accidentally breaking the drumheads while tuning them.
When you invest in an electric kit, you’re purchasing every type of drum kit imaginable. The module comes programmed with sound files for everything from metal to jazz. Along with the standard drum sounds, the kit comes programmed with a host of percussion instruments. Basically, you’re purchasing every single drum, percussion instrument, and MIDI controller you’ll need.
What’s so Special About the Roland TD-30KV?
The Roland TD-30KV is one of the most advanced electronic drumming systems available. The device comes with advanced drum sensor technology that makes the kit indistinguishable from an acoustic drum kit. Each drumhead senses your stick’s velocity and changes the sound based on how hard you’re hitting the drums. This gives the electronic kit a natural feel that is difficult to replicate. If you’re a recording artist and you need a quiet kit to record with, the TD-30KV is a great option. You can plug it directly into your DAW, and get stunning results with minimal noise.
Overall, the Roland TD-30KV is well worth the initial investment. You’ll save money in the long run and sound great while doing it.
